Chapter Luncheon, January 21, 2014 at 11:15am

Speaker: (Update) Coach John Kentera

(Please note that Navy Football Staff Members Bryce McDonald '03 & Coach Steve Johns had to reschedule their visit and will be in San Diego in April 2014)
Please join us for our January luncheon and listen to our speaker: "Coach" John Kentera.
"Coach" John Kentera has solidified his name as a local leader amongst the sports enthusiast.
He's been an icon for his alma mater, Torrey Pines High School, having both played and coached basketball, baseball, and football along with coaching the girls softball team.
He's been a mentor to hundreds of student athletes guiding their careers in many ways, including placing over 100 students at the college level and having 37 players drafted or sign professional baseball contracts.
His love of sports has taken "Coach" to Torrey Pines, Mira Costa College, Southwestern College, and Texas Tech. His duties included coaching baseball and as the recruiting coordinator at the college level.
"Coach" is a leader amongst the high school coaches, students, and parents with his number-one rated high school sports show every Friday night during the football season. "Coach" has been a long-time announcer for San Diego State Aztec football and basketball teams, the voice for the CIF football and basketball finals as well as hosting a Chargers post-game show and Padres Talk with former CY Young award winner Randy Jones.
He is a member of the Mighty 1090 AM Sports Radio Team and is on air Monday to Friday from 6pm to 9pm. He is also the General Manager of the San Diego Sockers who have won fourteen indoor soccer titles, including four consecutive PASL Titles, with the Sockers making their home at the Valley View Casino Center.
One of the items on his sporting events bucket list is going to an Army-Navy Game - he is looking forward to experiencing first hand this year's 115th Army-Navy Football Game Classic in Baltimore, MD with his brother.
"Coach" John Kentera is a dedicated family man who finds time for everyone, a quality not often seen in our world today.
