Three Venues for Watching the Game

Our traditional home a Seau’s in Mission Valley was complimented with The Fish Company on Coronado for those that hate to cross the bridge and The Shore Club in Mission Beach for the JO/younger grad crowd.  Boisterous crowds turned out for almost every game at each of the venues with the big turnout coming for the Army-Navy game.

We had over 250 alumni and friends at Seau’s again this year to watch Navy hand the Black Knights their 9th straight loss.  Special guests for the day were a group of Wounded Warriors and friends from Balboa Hospital and other medical facilities in the San Diego area.  There were all the usual festivities with push-ups from a few stalwart grads to match the plebes and great food and libations in abundance.  The half time highlight was the auction of a Heisman Trophy winner signed football (Dawkins, Bellino, Staubach) to benefit the Athletic and Scholarship Foundation.  The bidding was hot and heavy with the ultimate winner being Doug Taggart ’79 with a winning bid that ended in the number “79” of course.

The Shore Club had a huge turnout as well with the festivities taking over the club and adjacent parking lot.  The crowd came turned out in their finest to cheer on the Navy squad and safety was insured with even a crossing guard on duty to get the supporters there in style despite the low hanging fog.
